At Trinity River Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center, the privacy of your personal information is very important to us. We understand that healthcare matters are personal, and we are in compliance with all state and federal laws regarding patient privacy and care.
There are a few instances where we will have to share your information to provide you with the best possible care. Your information will never be shared without your explicit consent, which will usually be given in writing before your treatment begins. In general, your information will be shared only with the following people:
- Doctors and healthcare professionals directly or indirectly involved in your care. For example, we may share information about your condition with your general dentist or physician when they are involved in your treatment. If a second opinion is in order, information about your condition may be shared with a qualified specialist to obtain information about how to best care for you.
- Family or friends who are caring for you after anesthesia. We may give care instructions to your family or friends when it is necessary that they care for you after anesthesia and surgery.
- Individuals that you have given us explicit permission to share your information with. If you have listed a spouse, parent, or another person as an emergency contact, we may share information about your condition or treatment with them. (You have the option to restrict who we share your information with.)
- Insurance companies or other parties involved in paying for your treatment. We may contact your insurance company and discuss your treatment plan to receive payment for the services rendered. Only the amount of information necessary to receive payment will be shared.
